Be Aware of the Use of Expletives
Expletives are phrases of the form it + be-verb and there + be-verb. Their use can cause sentences to be unnecessarily elongated and weaker.
For example: "It is wrong to murder someone," could be more efficiently stated as "Murder is wrong."
"There is something I need to tell you," could be more efficiently stated as "I need to tell you something."
